Monthly day trips are provided in association with Group Work. They:
- ensure that children of prisoners have appropriate outings
- ensure that they don't miss out on positive child activities
- help children to have fun, and to interact with other children and young people who also have a parent in prison
- allow children to interact with adults who have committed themselves to helping children in their circumstance
- provide a safe entry point into group for children and for volunteers
Who is eligible to attend Daytrips?
Children and young people who are clients of SHINE for Kids can be eligible for daytrips, with priority being given to children being considered for group or already attending group.
