SHINE for Kids Co-operative Ltd is a community-based organisation that supports children whose parents are imprisoned in New South Wales.

Colour illustration: SHINE for Kids promotes a society that cherishes all children and young people whose lives are touched by the criminal justice system.Current estimates are that there are 14,500 children affected by their parents' imprisonment in NSW in any one year. These children are hidden in the community and can feel very isolated and stigmatised. SHINE for Kids Co-operative Ltd assists and supports children of prisoners to develop coping mechanisms and provides opportunities for these children to support each other.

For children of parents in the criminal justice system to participate fully in family and community life.

Mission

SHINE for Kids works in partnership with children and young people with a parent in the criminal justice system to overcome social and educational barriers and realise their potential.
